Lesson 14

My Last Lecture "... by small and simple things are great things brought to pass ...." (Alma 37:6) Most people think that in order to make a difference in the world they need to do something on a grand scale. I believe we can make the biggest difference in the world by doing the small and simple things. The best way to know how to go about doing this is to "never suppress a generous thought" (Sister Camilla Kimball) and be bold in following the spirit. In order to be the best we can be at doing the small and simple things we need to figure out what our personal ministry is. President Kimball said, "Remember, in the world before we came here, faithful women were given certain assignments while faithful men were foreordained to certain priesthood tasks. Lesson 13

This week's lesson was on gratitude. President Thomas S. Monson was a great example of having " an attitude of gratitude. " President Monson stated, "This is a wonderful time to be living here on earth. Our opportunities are limitless. While there are some things wrong in the world today, there are many things right, such as teachers who teach, ministers who minister, marriages that make it, parents who sacrifice, and friends who help. "We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues." I know I can definitely do better of having an attitude of gratitude!
