Lesson 4

This week's lesson was a great opportunity to be reminded of the values that are the foundation to my life. In preparation for my personal constitution I sent a text out to my husband and kids to see what they saw as my unique qualities and what they appreciated about me ... which was a nice way to get them to say nice things about me. 😊 Interestingly enough, what they shared was along the same lines as what I have stated as my values - family, disciple and service. I'm a pretty simple person, not much fluff in my life, but when it comes to my family, my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and my relationship with others, my roots are deep and my values are strong.

I also enjoyed reading, for the most part, The Ministry of Business by Steve Hitz. There were a few things I had a hard time with, feeling that he was promoting an agenda, but there were several principles that I agreed with, mostly divine guidance, power of covenants, giving back and being the unseen difference. These principles go along very closely with my own values and are very much woven into my own tapestry. The main thing is that truth is truth and if we are living the truth with meaning and purpose, we will be guided to where our Heavenly Father knows we can be of most benefit to ourselves, our family, our religion and our world.
